Boise, ID (CBS2) — Delta Dental of Idaho made a huge investment in the future of Idaho's dental industry with a donation to the College of Western Idaho.

Delta Dental donated $1.5 million to CWI's efforts to create a permanent health and science building.

Delta Dental has been working to advance the oral healthcare industry across the state for the past 53 years, this grant further showed their commitment to making sure that Idahoans have access to oral healthcare providers.

"It's essential to have well-trained dental hygienists and assistants entering the oral health workforce, and CWI's plans for their program are exceptional," said Senior Director of Community Outreach and Oral Health for Delta Dental of Idaho, Heather Brown.

Delta Dental's donation will go towards funding for a state-of-the-art facility for dental assisting and dental hygiene programs offering hands-on training while providing accessible dental care.

Delta Dental's investment will help CWI's ongoing efforts to meet the growing demand for healthcare education in Idaho. "CWI's initiative perfectly aligns with Delta Dental of Idaho's mission," Brown continued. "This donation benefits the future dental workforce and improves the health of Idahoans."
